The Ando Day is a memorable day filled with inspiration, fun and new insights that expand one's consciousness. It is an extension of Ando, in which 'consciousness' is central. It is a day where we put even more emphasis on personal development and being yourself. The programme remains a surprise, so that everyone can enter openly. Attention will be paid both on and off the mat. All this to create a bit of awareness in everyone who participates in this activity.
The theme 'awareness' is very broad that every year we try to find a different angle. Whether it is about awareness of yourself or your surroundings. In 2016, for example, the theme was 'Unifiyed Centre', which translates freely into 'unified centre'. In short, each time a different topic is put in the spotlight.
The Ando Day came into being through the loss of Marga and later Wim, both founders and parents of Edo and Anne. Their life's mission was to help people come back to themselves, to give them insights and tools to get more out of life. Marga did this from the (alternative) health care sector and Wim from his passion for marketing and teaching. Both were wise, helpful people who helped build Ando into what it is today. A loving 'family' where you can be yourself. After all, this is the basis for being able to open up and develop yourself. From this basis, these founders and their life's purpose are put in the spotlight by continuing their positivity and inspiration on the Ando Day.
