Harvey Konigsberg
Harvey Konigsberg sensei (84) was a young boxer when he attended an Aikido demonstration by Yoshimitsu Yamada Shihan and Koichi Tohei Shihan in 1965. This made such an impression that sensei Harvey decided to practise Aikido. He thus became one of Yamada Shihan's first students.
As an artist, he used his artistic skills to create an impressive collection of Aikido art over the years. Gave Aikido seminars all over the world. The last time he was in the Netherlands was with the 15-year anniversary of Ando-dojo.
He still teaches in Woodstock Aikido and New York Aikikai. Did you know that Konigsberg sensei is also a member of the American Aikido Federation's technical committee? They ensure that Aikido techniques are not lost due to poor quality.
Michelle Feilen shihan has some 40 years of experience in Aikido. She was a regular student of Yoshimitsu Yamada Shihan, as well as Miyamoto sensei. Besides Aikido, she also used to practise Judo in France.
Today, she teaches in the Meishûkan Dojo in Barcelona, she teaches international courses and has participated in special Aikido demonstrations for the Ueshiba family. For the experienced Aikidoka, chances are that they have attended an international seminar she organised.
Chris Wong sensei was introduced to Aikido through her boyfriend in 1985. She became a student of the late Kensho Furuya. She later studied under Mitsunari Kanai Shihan and Yoshimitsu Yamada Shihan. In 1998, she moved to Santa Barbara, where she practised Aikido with the founders of Aikido Santa Barbara. In 2003, she became head instructor of her own dojo, where she teaches all ages. She is a member of the Board of Directors of the USAF. Her Aikido is like love of food, very diverse sometimes spicy, but always tasty. With big and powerful movements.

Sure. We know there will be a lot on you in terms of first impressions, but are confident you will enjoy it. There will be plenty of teachers around to help you if needed.
Of course you are welcome. What fun! Aikido has different forms, but the basics have a lot in common. It's up to you to discover them during this internship. Widen your view and just join in.
How cool that you went to an internship abroad like this Ando Aikido Seminar looks. Our Aikido community is happy to help you in your stay here in the Netherlands. Please get in touch via mail@aikido-ando.nl.
Pin or Cash. It may be either, we have the option to pay by pin (or credit card) on arrival.
Yes, you read that correctly. If you can show that you are a teacher in a dojo and you have at least two students who train with you for the weekend (and pay), then you can train for free as a sensei. We think it is important that you remain challenged as a teacher, which you do during this kind of training.
