Within Aikido, it is important to be affiliated to the Hombu dojo (headquarters in Japan) to get the Dan exams (black belt) recognised internationally. Ando has this recognition through Yoshimitsu Yamada sensei and his international organisation Sansuikai / USAF (America).
Ando thus gives internationally recognised exams and titles af. Besides examining, Ando organises national and international seminars with various top grandmasters (shihan) and senseis (teachers). These seminars are often also open for external to attend.

Ensuring quality on the mat requires not only high-quality seminars, but also trainers who continue to develop. Within Ando, we have a platform (Aikido Academy) for trainers and assistant trainers to support them in their training in various ways. Teaching is an art that needs to be taken seriously. Ando is very aware of what it takes to help their trainers by providing specific workshops and training. In addition, Ando operates with a confidential advisor, VOG and code of conduct. We would like all pupils on the mat feel safe both physically, mentally and emotionally.
Furthermore, Ando has supplementary insurance for its students if needed.

Ando also organises all kinds of activities for its students from the union. This varies from year to year what is on the programme. What we try to do is organise fun activities for each target group, such as a camp, special themed activities or joint opening/closing of the season. Every year, we also have some fun gift for our students. This ranges from an Ando T-shirt to a home-made Aikido Children's Book. Ando believes it is important to connect. Its students are therefore important and we like to give back as much as we can.

Sometimes people ask if there is a possibility of a dojo joining Ando or some kind of monitoring of the quality of training in a dojo. Of course this is possible! We are open to discussion. However, it is good to know that we are selective about who we work with. There has to be a click, a good feeling for both parties. Otherwise, it won't work in the end.
